On July 27, 2023, at the meeting of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine, the issue of compliance of public associations that submitted documents to the Commission with the requirements for participation in the meeting of representatives of public associations to establish the Public Integrity Council was considered.
In accordance with part ten of Article 87 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges”, the meeting of representatives of public associations shall be convened by the Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine.
Pursuant to part sixteen of Article 87 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges”, the Chairman of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine set August 14, 2023, as the date of the meeting of representatives of public associations. The time of the meeting is 11:00, the venue is the premises of the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine (Kyiv, 9 General Shapoval St.).
For reference: the Public Integrity Council is established to assist the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine in determining whether a judge (candidate for the position of a judge) meets the criterion of professional ethics and integrity for the purposes of qualification evaluation.
According to part two of Article 87 of the Law of Ukraine “On the Judiciary and the Status of Judges”, the Public Integrity Council consists of twenty members.
