On October 27, 2023, the Chairman of the Commission Roman Ihnatov, the Deputy Chairman of the Commission Ruslan Sydorovych, and the Head of the Secretariat of the Commission Olena Ponomarenko held a working meeting with the Chairman of the High Anti-Corruption Court Vira Mykhailenko.
The participants of the meeting discussed the importance of the Commission’s announcement of the competition to the High Anti-Corruption Court, taking into account, in particular, the complexity of the cases pending before the Court, as well as legislative changes that significantly expanded its powers.
On September 26, 2023, the High Council of Justice determined the new number of judges in the High Anti-Corruption Court, it consist now 63 positions, including 21 positions of judges of the Appeals Chamber.
We would like to remind you that the High Anti-Corruption Court was created in 2019 in accordance with the judicial reform. The competition for the newly established court was conducted by the High Qualification Commission of Judges of Ukraine together with the Public Council of International Experts. On March 6, 2019, the HQCJ announced the names of 39 winners of the competition, including 12 to the Appeals Chamber.
